This Concert for Violin was commissioned by the violinist Francisco Jimeno in 2012. It was composed during 2013 and fi nished on November of the same year.
Like a journey, the starting point is the same place where one returns. In this way, first and last movements of the work are made with the same thematic material and with a similar formal structure, like a house from where one leaves and where one returns.
The central movements, Adagio and Scherzo, may be deemed as two stages that, like two landscapes, are very different. The Adagio is a bucolic movement in which the romantic beauty explodes in the ear of the listener. The Scherzo is the contrast of the adagio.
The Cadenza of the concert joins all. It is the point in which all movements come together, in which the memories of the past join the return at home.
This concert is dedicated to who commissioned it, the violinist Francisco Jimeno, who is an excellent partner to work with and a good friend.
