José Galeote (Barcelona 1978) is a composer and guitar player. He studied music at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona with composer and guitar player Jaume Torrent.

José Galeote’s music has a strong polyphonic character as well as a marked taste for colour as his expressive tool, which provides both a vertical and horizontal architecture, where they live together in hierarchical equality with a delicate symbiosis between direction and colour. This structure results in a polyphonic style framed in an open tone while in a constant search of a tonal core, a center of gravity that one way or another is always present but never quite there, generating a fluid discourse and a solid structural balance.

Galeote’s musical production is broad and varied and includes solo, chamber and educational works, as well as works for orchestra and choirs, being the guitar the creative core of many of these compositions.

He often receives educational commissions from chamber groups o soloists, as well as choral ensembles. His works have been played in many music festivals in Europe and America.
