Lacrimosa was composed in 2008, and it's inspired and uses a fragment of the poem Lacrimosa Josep Soler. The words and the drama of Soler, inspire Civilotti, who gives a rhythmic sound and trying to prove a dialectic to leave a lasting environment of what these words suggest.

Lacrimosa (Tearful) was written in May 2008, at the suggestion of the Paloma Báscones (soprano) and Joan Pere Gil (clarinet), and was debuted by this musical duo at Barcelona’s Festival Mas i Mas. It takes its inspiration from and, in fact, uses a fragment of the poem from which it takes its name, by Josep Soler, my teacher in Barcelona and a man for whom I have held the greatest admiration and considered a close friend for the past 25 years. Writing a piece based on one of his poems proved to be great inspiration, while at the same time posing a great challenge. Without going into the more technical details, which, as I see it, undermine the necessary ambiguity which all artistic works should wear as a badge, I have tried to approach this poem not only in terms of its meaning, but also in response to the way it sounds, its very rhythm, attempting a dialectic on this level while at the same time as seeking to express the ambience evoked, to my sensibilities, by his words.
