When the author composed this piece drew on three reference points, the first of which being Baroque instrumental music; the second reference is the sounding of bells typical of the city of Cervera; thirdly, there are allusions to compositions from Stravinsky's second period.
Fantasía covers some of the themes from the opera El viatge de Marlow, primarily the theme of a journey that appears right from the beginning of the piece and is its main theme. This motif leads to others that refer to the landscape of darkness, to the forest or to the grotesque characters that survive in these inhospitable surroundings.

Tres momentos en Antioquía is written in three movements: Allegro, Largo and Allegro, with a background of small symphony. Each movement describes a different moment of the author's mood experienced during the first few months working and living in Medellin (Colombia).
The first of the Tres peces is called Matinal giving a popular air to the piano arpeggios. The second Cançó de Muntanya has clarinet pastoral improvisations. Finally, the third piece called Scherzo is a playful page structured in fugue style
